Marilena Conde

Marilena Conde has more than 14 years experience in the nuclear
industry. She joined Edlow International Company in 1984, shortly
after her return to the United States from Naples, Italy, where
she resided with her family while her husband was deployed with
the U.S. Sixth Fleet.
Ms. Conde studied Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts in Alexandria,
Egypt, and earned her BA degree in French. She is fluent in Italian,
French, Spanish, and Arabic, and has working knowledge of German
and Greek. She is experienced in international and intercultural
affairs, and has traveled the world extensively. When she relocated
to Washington, Ms. Conde sought a challenging position in the
area of International Business Relations and Corporate Alliances
that would provide an opportunity for growth as well as being
able to continue using her language skills. Edlow International
Company provided that opportunity.
Ms. Conde initially worked as Assistant to the President of the
Company. She was able to effectively communicate with Edlow International's
world-wide base of clients and business operations developed during
the company's 41 years in the transportation of radioactive materials.
Her drive and initiative enabled her to assist increasingly in
proposal preparations, participate in special assignments, work
on consulting projects for major utility companies and perform
duties of company-wide administration.
Rapidly gaining business skills and acquiring nuclear expertise,
Ms. Conde’s responsibilities expanded to all facets of transportation
services for international customers and U.S. government agencies.
She was responsible for full range of administrative functions
as well as planning several technical conferences within the United
States and Europe. One special project was managing a visit by
a group of foreign research reactor operators from 19 countries.
Another special project was the extensive coordination with the
U.S. DOE and the U.S. Department of State required for the successful
return of U.S. origin spent fuel to the United States.
With her promotion in 1998 to Vice President for Marketing and
Administration, Ms. Conde’s new responsibilities are focused on
working closely with Edlow International’s customers and ensuring
that their requirements are not only met but exceed expectations,
closely monitoring all requests for quotations and submitting
them in a cost-effective and timely manner, and contacting potential
clients for new business opportunities. Her interpersonal skills
and knowledge of the nuclear industry combine to provide all customers
with the skilled, reliable and courteous services for which Edlow
International is known. Marilena Conde and the qualified team
at Edlow International has pledged to continue serving the nuclear
industry for the safe, reliable and cost-effective transport of
radioactive materials.
