Roger Pescott joined the Edlow International team in 1981 as Director of Edlow International Australia Pty.Ltd. He brought to the company a wealth of international and nuclear experience through eleven years of service in the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. During that time he had represented Australia at major international conferences, including at the United Nations in New York and Geneva, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.

Mr. Pescott’s experience in nuclear matters had begun in 1976 as the Australian representative in Brussels dealing with Euratom and the European Commission’s Atomic Questions Group. He actively participated in essentially all of the IAEA conferences on nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear supply issues over a very critical five year period. He served as Assistant to Australian Ambassador-at-Large for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Safeguards, Mr. Justice Fox, in London; in this capacity, he participated in discussions with senior representatives from governmental agencies and the private nuclear industries of Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canada, the FRG, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden, the United States and Yugoslavia. Mr. Pescott supported the negotiations of nuclear safeguards agreements with Euratom and France.

In 1985, Mr. Pescott was elected to the Victoria State Parliament, and reached the rank of Minister and Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Liberal Party. Since that time, his work for Edlow International Australia has been through a family consultancy group.

Mr. Pescott has supported all Edlow International activities involving Australian source and special nuclear material, and spent research
reactor fuel. Most recently, he attended on EIC’s behalf international conferences on reprocessing and research reactor spent fuel in Belgium in 1996 and Korea in 1997, and Uranium Institute meetings in London and Colorado in 1998 and 1999. Mr. Pescott is consulted and advises the President of EIC on a regular basis.

Mr. Roger Pescott is an honors graduate of the Australian National University (ANU). He was also ANU’s sportsman of the year in 1969.
