Making Waves at Edlow International: Current intern Elliot Irwin also a Champion Swimmer

Current Edlow International Intern, Elliott Irwin, competed at the National Invitational Championships in four individual events: 50 fly, 100 fly, 50 free, and 100 free.  Irwin earned first place in the 50 butterfly and second place in the 100 fly, 50 free, and 100 free.

The 50 butterfly time of 20.38 set a National Championship record, a Division 1 Mid-Major record, GW school record, and a pool record. This performance also placed him 6th overall in the U.S. national rankings for the 50 fly.

Additionally, in the 200 medley relay, Irwin swam the 50 butterfly leg in 19.92, which, had it been an individual event, would have ranked him 1st overall in the U.S. However, as it was part of a relay, it does not officially count as an individual time.

In the overall point tally from events swam for the competition he also was ranked first by 1 point as the competitions high point scorer.
